Today, he would have been 91. That’s actually quite young for a Vulcan.
Sadly, he was a human living in the 20th century, long before the medical marvels of Star Trek (or even the ones of today, 21 years after his death) could come to pass and prevent his body from failing.
He envisioned a future where humans would come to be better than we are now - where we would aspire to the stars instead of stardom, and live for peace instead of pieces of things.
